Statue of unity with a height of 182 Meters (597ft) stands as a world's tallest statue in 2018.
The statue of unity is tribute to an indian independence era leader Sardar Vallabhbhai patel.
Narendra Modi first announced the project to commemorate Vallabhbhai Patel on 7 October 2013 at a press conference.
The construction of the statue started in October 2013 by Larsen & Toubro, with a total construction cost of Rs 2,989 crores (29.89 billion rupees; USD $459 million).
It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar.
Beginning date of the construction is 31 October 2013, Completion date is 30 October 2018 and inaugurated in 31 October 2018.
70,000 tonnes of cement, 24,000 tonnes of steel and 1,700 tonnes of bronze is used in this construction.

It was Inaugurated by Narendra Modi on 143rd anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth.
